Understanding the variable rate.
- The variable rate is calculated based on the territory the customer is contacting us from
- For Trinidad & Tobago customers we calculate the variable rate using 0.0990
- For all other territories we use 0.015
- Hotels, Car Rentals and cruises also use the above rates to find the number of points required for the redemption
When converting money to points we divide the cash amount by either 0.015 or 0.0990 based on the territory to get the amount of points
Example:
- A customer calling from Trinidad & Tobago is doing a one way trip and the base fare of the ticket is $1345.00
Points Required: 1345/0.0990=13,586
- A customer calling from another territory wants to do a car rental which is costing $575.00
Points Required: 575/0.015=38,333
